Mark Anthony Short is a native of the South Side of Chicago, where he always dreamed of becoming a firefighter and playing sports. His drive led him to a National championship in College football, where he was later inducted into the College Hall of Fame. Mark understands the discipline and determination that it takes to become a Champion. Mark also became a part of history in 2012, becoming a member of the “111” first all-black firefighters class. This opportunity introduced Short to work as a background actor on the NBC hit show Chicago Fire for 13 years. Through consistency on set and a love of filmmaking, Mark was inspired to launch his own production company, That’s a Wrap Productions, founded in 2019. Short brings professional knowledge and a refined sense of visual storytelling that captures the true essence of humor and self-reflective moments. His work combines technical precision with character-driven narratives, making him a unique storyteller. He wrote and produced his first short film, Self, which has won several awards at film festivals.
